A Little Effort, Lots of Rewards

Obedience training can define the difference between owning a dog and bonding with a pet.  Puppies purchased and left in the family’s back yard often end up in a shelter looking for a new home.  Dogs not properly socialized may develop problems with people or other animals resulting in permanent isolation, abandonment or even euthanasia.  Many dogs are misunderstood due to their extreme levels of intensity or excitement.  Owners, not knowing how to communicate with their dogs, can begin to act out of frustration and do more harm than good.  All of these problems can be prevented through simply taking the time to talk to a professional dog trainer or behaviorist.  Most puppy issues (i.e. - play biting, jumping, pulling) can be resolved through a simple group class.  In many aggression cases, owners have not previously established an appropriate leadership role with their dogs.  Time spent on proper communication will help owners gain respect and establish themselves as the “pack” leader.  Dog training is so much more than just “sit”, “down” and “heel”.   When taught properly, obedience leads to confidence, patience and trust.  Signing up for a class may be one of the best commitments you make to your dog.

We look forward to working with you and your dog!
